President's Day!

President's Day just happened to be on Jase's birthday this year.  So TJ and Jase went to see a movie with Josh.  While he was at the movie, the girls hung out at our house.  They decided that Angela was really needing to ride around in the stroller.  Though all the girls have had a bought with a pretty nasty cold, they had plenty of love to chase around this poor kitty and get her into the stroller.  Angela is indeed one of the best cats ever as she just let them roll her around!

Basketball...basketball

TJ is playing on 2 basketball teams this year.  The Rebels and The Slammers.  Needless to say our weeks are very full!  He is having such a good time. He is finding a love for basketball!

A Big Head

The curse/blessing of being part of our family is a GIANT head!  The best part about it...of course is a big brain.  The worst part....shirts don't fit around the head and so.....it's always an experiment getting dressed. :)

This is Charlie...

Let me start by saying this.  I am NOT an inside animal person. I don't like the smell, I don't like the clean up, mostly it just annoys me.

Imagine this scenario: Dog outside to go to the bathroom, dog on her way back inside....WITH A MOUSE!

This is Charlie.
She is a dog.
She is cute.
She is currently living in my our laundry room.
She smells.
I have to clean her up.

She and I will get along famously.
In the spring.

Spring cannot come soon enough.

On the other hand, the rest of our family is twitterpated.
We should have named her love.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am not very good about decorating for quasi-holidays.  I am all for Christmas, and decorate accordingly, but all the rest just kinda get left in the dust.
BUT...this year, I am making a concentrated effort to make a big deal out of every holiday, every day, every moment...I just was thinking about all the memories I could be making with my kiddos, and how I was not making those because of, let's face it, laziness.  It isn't that I don't like the holidays other than Christmas, I just for whatever reason feel like it is only one day, so why make a big deal out of it. But in the spirit of capturing EVERY moment with my kids, and trying to instill in them that the little things do matter....I will CELEBRATE.
And truthfully, I mean who doesn't want to celebrate a day focused on love?  I mean our lives revolve around the idea of love.  So why not really make a HUGE deal out of it?  The LOVE we celebrate may be a different love than the world's version of love, but what an opportunity to share the difference with our children between the LOVE we know and the love that is celebrated by the world on this day.

"For God so LOVED the world that He gave His ONLY Son..." John 3:16
"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments." 1 John 5:3

I will be, prayerfully, posting more pictures of the fun holiday things we do.

So thanks to Pinterest and Martha Stewart, we made some crayon shaving hearts.  The kids had a great time and it was fun to watch them play around with colors in this fun activity.

Basically you shave crayons (word to the wise, the crayon takes a while to get off the grater-for those that use your kitchen ones) onto wax paper and take a low iron and melt the paper and the crayon together.  Then cut the shapes out and hang them around your home.

Happy Valentine's Day all!
Just wait until President's Day! :)

Snow post...a little late.

Now that all the snow is gone and the weather is becoming more spring like. I will post some pictures of our snowventures.  We had a TON of snow in January.  Enough so that Tim and I's planned trip to Dallas got canceled.  The bright side of missing out on 70 degree weather and a great conference is that we got to spend the weekend with my mom and played a lot in the snow.
Our sweet girlies, playing in the snow.
 Lylah- the ever helpful!
We ended up with about 3 feet of snow and some beautiful icicles, that the kids loved eating! Gross.
