This summer we began doing a dedicated family fun night each week. We have been trying to make it a high priority in our house in an effort to create better and more tangible bonds with our children. Being that our goal above all else is for our children to know and understand who God is, we want them to have an attachment to our family that is beyond blood. We decided that one way we can foster these relationships is to have an activity once a week, where we focus on our immediate family, just the 5 of us. It has been a sweet sweet blessing for each of us. I look forward to many many more family nights like this one.
In the spirit of my favorite season, the weather changing and the warm clothes making their way to the front of the closet, we decided to paint pumpkins.
She really got into it!
Ever the patriot!
The concentration....
The attitude!
Happy Fall Y'all!!

Family Fun night is my favorite night of the week! I grew up having one, and definitely wanted to carry on this tradition with my family too for the same exact reasons :) We've been going 4 years strong now, and painting/carving pumpkins is a Family Fun Night activity for us every October too :) We should bounce ideas off each other via email! I just found some great stuff at Target for cheap (fun fall crafts) :)
What a great idea!---to be intentional about it, and not just let it happen "randomly" (because we know how time flies...). Thanks for sharing!
---and cute pics, by the way! :0) Looks like a fun activity!
