Ellensburg

TJ had his first ever out of town baseball tournament this past weekend.
Now, don't get worked up, his team isn't doing this regularly, it is just a one shot thing. At 7 he is not playing on a traveling baseball team. He had a blast, even with a shockingly bad record for the weekend. But to be fair, every team they played were all-star teams with kids as old as 9. His team was not an all-star team as our league doesn't do all-star until 9 years old. Anyway, even though they lost (a lot) he had such a great time, and it was really a fun weekend.

As you can tell from the picture, Lylah had a FANTASTIC time!
Actually, she did really great! She only had a few momentary melt downs.

Grampy and Mollie came for part of one game, which helped break up the day for Lylah and Avarie (and mommy, as Tim was coaching and of no help :) Love you honey).

One of the team dads found some eye black and put it on the kids to add some more fun to the day. They felt so professional!

Tim was coaching third.
One of the greatest things that happened was in the first game. TJ's team was losing 24-0 (I told you it was bad) and it was the last inning. TJ came up to bat, rolled up his sleeve trying his hardest to channel Ichiro, and slammed it into the outfield. He ran to first, then second and sees Tim telling him to stop. Well he sees Tim anyway, and just keeps on running to third. You see, he REALLY wanted to make a homerun. Tim starts yelling for him to slide, and sure enough he is safe at 3rd. Next batter comes up hits it to short stop, TJ runs with all of his might and scores the only run for his team. It was a small victory for a team that was outscored 90-14, in 5 games for the weekend. ...and for those of you who were surprised it WAS windy in Ellensburg.
